What you're trying to do

Your mission, in your own words (from your About page).

We're a local team that created this page to share the real Pattaya.

We've seen Pattaya reduced to clichés for too long, often judged by first impressions and headlines that don't tell the whole story.

But the Pattaya we know is different. It's a city of early mornings and sea breezes, of family-run cafés opening before sunrise, quiet beaches away from the crowds, neighborhood markets, green parks, and familiar faces that greet you like a regular.

We are a small team of residents, creatives and explorers who believe that travel should be slower, more curious and more respectful.

Our goal is simple: to give Pattaya the justice it deserves by sharing the places locals love, the routines that shape daily life, and the small moments that make this city feel human and alive.

Through our guides, itineraries and recommendations, we invite you to experience Pattaya beyond the obvious: to walk more, taste local food, support small businesses, respect nature and culture, and connect with the rhythm of the city rather than rushing through it.

It's an invitation to see Pattaya through local eyes.

If this is the story, why choose Pattaya?

Pattaya's advantage is the contradiction.

WHOLESOME
Families · temples · morning cafés
SEEDY
Bars · nightlife · sex industry
LOCAL
Thai neighbourhoods · markets · workers
INTERNATIONAL
Tourists · Expats · Russians · Indians · Europeans
YOUNG
Nightlife · workers · tourists
OLD
Retirees · long-term expats

And somehow all of this exists together.

Weird. Funny. Sad. Aspirational. Desperate. Ordinary. Completely insane.

Often on the same street.

You don't get this in Da Nang, Krabi, Hua Hin or Penang

In trying to escape what makes Pattaya infamous, I think you may also be escaping what makes Pattaya unique.

Obviously, this is just my theory.

But then I found an interesting example...

This is Pattaya Unfiltered.

So why are people talking?

1
THE STORIES HE TELLS ARE RECOGNISABLE

Relationships. Money. Culture clashes. Sex. Loneliness. Thai life. Expats. Bad decisions.

2
THEY REVEAL HOW PATTAYA ACTUALLY WORKS

Not the censored version or the notorious version either. The real, messy, human reality people experience.

3
EVERY STORY INVITES ANOTHER STORY
“That happened to me.”
“My friend did exactly this.”
“He's completely wrong.”

Pattaya gives him an endless supply of stories. His audience sees themselves in them and adds their own stories.

One account obviously doesn't prove a business model ...

But ~28,000 ENGAGED people suggests there's an audience worth paying attention to.

Pattaya Bites

Three local girls. Same food. Very different opinions.

Pattaya Bites

THE FORMAT

1
Visit a restaurant

A new concept every week.

2
Eat, talk, and score

The girls discuss the food, restaurant and service, then each gives a score out of 10.

3
Scores are revealed

Different opinions, different tastes. Why the high score? Why so low?

EXAMPLE THEMES

  • German food (will May survive?)
  • Best cheap eats in Pattaya
  • Street food challenge
  • Mookata
  • Breakfast spots
  • Viewer suggestions

WHERE THE VIEWERS COME FROM

Pattaya has an established food review group scene on Facebook dying for content. We piggyback off their audience with our content until we have our own food community.

WHY THIS WORKS

Group dynamics people love real conversations and being part of something everyone else is talking about.

Clear format viewers like familiarity. The rating element creates suspense and structure, and we can add fun variations.

Likeable recurring cast viewers get to know the girls and their tastes, and come back for their reactions.

WHERE THIS COULD GO

1
We kick things off

We choose the restaurants and pay for the meals to get the content production started.

2
They start inviting us

Restaurants start asking us to visit their establishments.

3
Paid promotional content

Paid visits and other local businesses ask the girls to visit them - bars, hotels, attractions... not just restaurants.

Don't Pop Yet

Five potential dates. One balloon each. Say the wrong thing... POP.

Pattaya Bites

THE FORMAT

1
One local girl or guy

introduces themselves to five potential dates.

2
The dates pop their balloon

if they hear something they don't like.

3
If more than 1 has a balloon left

Our contestant pops the remaining balloons until one is left.

EXAMPLE THEMES

  • Guy meets girls / Girl meets guys
  • Guy meets guys / Girl meets girls
  • Age gaps (20s vs 50+)
  • Job / Nationality / Lifestyle Differences etc.

WHERE THE VIEWERS COME FROM

Pattaya already has huge expat communities across Facebook, LINE and local groups in various locations like Pratamnak, Jomtien, Darkside and beyond. We use teaser clips in those communities to get our first viewers and our first contestants.

WHY THIS WORKS

Attraction + rejection everybody wants to know who stays and who gets popped.

Real Pattaya characters real people create moments we couldn't script.

Built for sharing every rejection, confession and unexpected moment can become its own short clip.

WHERE THIS COULD GO

1
We kick things off

We recruit genuine singles ourselves and produce the show.

2
Daters start coming to us

People see the show and apply themselves. We don't have to work so hard putting the shows together.

3
We create a local "old school" dating agency

Online dating is terrible. We have a database of real people looking for relationships. We find ways to create matches and let people pay to meet partners specially selected for them.

Local vs Farang

Same money. Same city. Who has the better day?

Pattaya Bites

THE FORMAT

1
Meet the challengers

One Pattaya local. One farang. They each get exactly ฿1,000 to spend.

2
The challenge

They have one day to use their ฿1,000 to have the most entertaining day in Pattaya possible.

3
Who had the better day?

We put both days to the audience to decide who got the most out of their ฿1,000.

EXAMPLE THEMES

  • No taxis or ride apps
  • No alcohol
  • No tourist attraction
  • No spending more than ฿200 in one place

WHERE THE VIEWERS COME FROM

Thai social media vs farang social media gives us a ready-made rivalry. We recruit contestants from both sides, cut clips for Thai and English-speaking audiences, and let each community argue over who really knows how to enjoy Pattaya.

WHY THIS WORKS

Built-in rivalry Local vs Farang gives viewers someone to root for before the day even starts.

Constraints create stories ฿1,000 and a changing restriction force choices, mistakes and creative solutions.

Pattaya is the content every episode discovers different places, people and experiences without becoming another review show.

WHERE THIS COULD GO

1
We build the audience

Fund the challenges ourselves and focus on making something Thai and foreign audiences want to follow, argue about and take part in.

2
Try to zero production costs

Businesses start making offers to get into the challenge. Free activities, meals, transport and special deals gradually offset what it costs us to make each episode.

3
Monetize the audience later

The real goal is an engaged local community. Every new viewer becomes someone we can introduce to our other content, the website, guides, services and whatever we build next.

Where do I fit into this?

I'm not a content guy.

And I don't want to take over the creative side of this. You've already got someone much better placed to do that. She's immersed in Pattaya every day, understands the audience you're trying to reach, and probably has twenty ideas better than the three I've quickly come up with here — she just hasn't had a reason to pursue them.

If you agree with the broader idea I've presented — that Pattaya itself is the opportunity, contradictions and all — I'd love to sit down with you both and see what we can come up with when we're actually trying.

But I am very good at building things.

And that's where I think I can be particularly useful.

If we find an opportunity, I don't need to explain it to a developer, find someone to build it and hope they understand what we're trying to do.

I can build it myself.

RN DATES

Remember the dating idea a few pages back?

I've already built a dating app.

I built RN Dates from scratch in roughly 2–3 weeks.

That's the kind of speed at which we can turn an idea into something real enough to test.

This page is another example.

I didn't want to manually count hundreds of posts so I built a small tool to analyse your accounts instead. The same tool can keep analysing your page or any competitors you want to understand.

Interested?

If you'd like to hear some of my ideas, let's catch up before you head back to Norway. I'd love to meet [her name], hear what you both have in mind and throw some ideas around properly.

If not, I hope there's something useful in what I've put together here.
